SB FreedoM – Your Mobile Your Bank

With the rapid growth in the number of mobile phone subscribers in India, banks have been exploring the feasibility of using mobile phones as an alternative channel of delivery of banking services. All the messages originating from mobile banking application are encrypted end to end using 128 bit AES encryption, thus ensuring security in processing the transactions.

Mobile banking (also known as M-Banking, SMS Banking etc.) is a term used for performing on-line real time balance checks, account transactions, payments etc. using mobile phone as the medium. Mobile Banking is cheapest way to reach any customer. The cost of transaction is very less when compared to other mode of transactions i.e., Branch Banking or Net Banking. State Bank freedoM offers convenient, simple, secure, anytime and anywhere banking 24 X 7 !!!.

Mobile Banking is the “Most Popular Application” under new generation mobile technology. “State Bank freedoM” is presently available only in Java enabled mobile phones over SMS / GPRS / WAP and also for non Java phones with GPRS connection.

Application / Wireless Application Protocol (WAP): »

The service is available on java enabled / Android mobile phones (with or without GPRS) where the user is required to download the application on to the mobile handset. The service can also be availed via WAP on all phones (java / non java) with GPRS connection.

The following functionalities are available:

  1. Funds transfer (within and outside the bank –using NEFT)
  2. Interbank Mobile Payment Service (IMPS): Click here for details
  3. Enquiry Services (Balance Enquiry / Mini Statement)
  4. Cheque Book Request
  5. Demat Enquiry Service
  6. Bill Payment (Utility Bills, Credit Cards, Insurance Premium), Donations, Subscriptions
  7. Mobile Top up
  8. M Commerce (Top up of Tata sky, Big TV, Dish TV, Sun Direct, Digital TV and Videocon d2h  connections, SBI Life Insurance Premium).

Business Rules Governing Mobile Banking Services:

  1. All Current / Savings Bank Account holders in Personal segment are eligible
  2. Transaction limit per customer per day is `50,000/- with a calendar month limit of `2,50,000.00
  3. The service will be carrier-agnostic i.e. all customers can avail the mobile banking service with the Bank irrespective of the service provider for their mobiles.
  4. The service is free of charge. SMS / GPRS cost will be borne by the customer.

Short Message Service (SMS): »

The service is available on all phones (java/non java) with / without GPRS connection. No need to download the application. Ordinary SMS charges are applicable.

The following functionalities are available:

  1. Enquiry Services (Balance Enquiry / Mini Statement)
  2. Mobile Top up
  3. DTH Top up / recharge
  4. IMPS – Mobile to Mobile Transfer
  5. Change MPIN.

Business Rules

  1. All Current / Savings Bank Account holders in Personal segment are eligible
  2. Transaction limit per customer per day is ` 1,000/- with a calendar month limit of ` 5,000/-
  3. The service is free of charge. SMS / GPRS cost will be borne by the customer
  4. All Customers can avail the service irrespective of telecom service provider
  5. As a precaution, Customers are requested to delete all the messages sent to the number 9223440000 or 567676, once the response for their request has been received
  6. MBS through SMS changed to long code i.e., 9223440000 (You can use 567676 also)
  7. SMS charges as per his / her plan for 9223440000 (Higher charges for 567676)

USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data): »

The service is available on all phones (java / non java) with / without GPRS connection. No need to download the application.

The following functionalities are available:

  1. Enquiry Services (Balance Enquiry / Mini Statement)
  2. Mobile Top up
  3. Funds Transfer (within Bank)

Business Rules

  1. All Current / Savings Bank Account holders in Personal segment are eligible
  2. Transaction limit per customer per day is ` 1,000/- with a calendar month limit of ` 5,000/-
  3. The service is free of charge. USSD session charges will be borne by the customer
  4. The service is available for subscribers of select telecom operators only
  5. The service is session based and requires a response from the user within a reasonable time
